M&M Cookies

I didn’t expect to love these M&M cookies as much as I did, neither did my friends. I served these to a group of friends and one guy said after his first bite “I would marry this cookie if I wasn’t already married!”

I didn’t expect to love these M&M cookies as much as I did, neither did my friends. I served these to a group of friends and one guy said after his first bite “I would marry this cookie if I wasn’t already married!” These are so fun because everyone loves them, adults for the nostalgia and simplicity, and kids because its M&Ms and a cookies, whats not to love! I like to buy M&M’s that are color coded for the nearest holiday, right now it is Valentine’s Day to add a little extra cheer and celebration to our home.

Yield: 32 cookies

Time: 1.5 hours

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups flour

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 24 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 2 cups packed dark brown sugar

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs plus 2 egg yolks

  • 1 Tbsp good vanilla extract

  • 1 10 oz pack of M&M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees and line your baking sheets with parchment paper

  2. Whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda in a small bowl and set aside

  3. Whisk the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together in a large bowl until fully combined

  4. Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract and whisk until fully combined

  5. Using a spatula, add in half the flour and mix until just combined. Then add half the package (5 oz) of M&M’s and stir together. Add in the rest of the flour mixture and stir together until just combined.

  6. Using a size 3 cookie scoop, divide the dough into individual portions, you should have about 32 cookies. Roll each cookie between your hands to form a circle and then press down slightly to form a disc. Space your cookies out on the baking sheets, they will spread, I suggest 6-8 per sheet. Dot each cookies with 5-7 M&M’s.

  7. Bake the cookies 1 sheet at a time for about 8-10 minutes. Let them rest on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool.
